Choose the Currency to Display for a Revenue Forecast

If you use multiple currencies and the project has different project and billing currencies, you can choose which one to use for your revenue forecast view and entries. The fields and options that display for revenue forecasts vary, depending on your currency selection.

Pre-requisites: Revenue forecasts are only available if you have the Resource Planning module. To switch currencies, your enterprise must use multiple currencies, and you must have different project and billing currencies assigned to the project.

To switch between currencies for a revenue forecast:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Revenue Forecast.
  2. At the top of the Revenue Forecast form, enter either a complete or partial name or number in the Find project lookup field to find and select the project for which you want to view the revenue forecast plan.
  3. From the Show: <currency type> drop-down list, choose the currency type to display.
The choices available depend on your setting for the Use Billing (Not Project) Currency For Reporting option in Settings > Accounting > Labor Options:

If you set the option to:Your choices in Show: <currency type> are:
    Yes Project Currency

    Billing Currency

    No Project Currency

    Billing (Invoice) Currency

The currency type that you select affects the columns that display on the Revenue Forecast form.

If your currency display selection is not the same as the stored currency that was set in Other Actions > Currency to Store, Vantagepoint displays a message to remind you that the revenue forecast values for this project are stored in a different currency.

If you edit revenue forecast values on the Revenue Forecast form using the non-stored currency, the currency exchange rates that apply to your entries may cause Vantagepoint to round the values you enter. To retain precise stored amounts, you should enter values only in the stored currency. You can change the stored currency type in Other Actions > Currency to Store.
