Create Contracts from Compensation Amounts

You can create contracts and add contract amounts based on existing project compensation amounts.

It is important to select the projects carefully to avoid creating duplicate contracts. The utility creates a contract whether or not one already exists for a project. Because this utility has the potential to update numerous projects, it is recommended that you make sure have a valid backup copy of the database before you run it.

Depending on the number of projects that you include, you may want to schedule this process to run after normal business hours, as it can take some time to run.

To create contracts from compensation amounts:

  1. On the Navigation menu in the desktop application, click Utilities > Updates > Create Contracts from Fees.
  2. In the Select Specific Projects field, select the projects that you want to update.
  3. Click Run on the toolbar.
  4. In response to the confirmation prompt, click Yes.

    The utility creates a contract for each of the selected projects that has compensation amounts specified on the Compensation tab of the Contract Management form in the Projects hub.
