Initialization Tab of the Project Information Management Form

Use these fields and options to select the Vantagepoint hub records that you want to validate and initialize to PIM.

Hubs to Initialize

Notes:
  • If you select hub records on the Setup tab, the corresponding checkboxes on the Initialization tab are automatically selected.
  • The Active checkboxes for record statuses are selected by default.
Field Description
Projects Select this checkbox to include the Projects hub records in the initialization process. You can also choose to sync projects based on their statuses: Active, Inactive, and Dormant.

If you select the Projects checkbox, the Firms, Contacts, and Employees checkboxes are also automatically selected.

Firms Select this checkbox to include the Firms hub records in the initialization process. You can also choose to sync firms based on their statuses: Active, Inactive, and Dormant.
Contacts Select this checkbox to include the Contacts hub records in the initialization process. You can also choose to sync contacts based on their statuses: Active, Inactive, and Terminated.
Employees Select this checkbox to include the Employees hub records in the initialization process. You can also choose to sync employees based on their statuses: Active, Inactive, and Terminated.
Marketing Campaigns Select this checkbox to include the Firms hub records in the initialization process. You can also choose to sync firms based on their statuses: Active and Inactive.

Hub Initialization Status

Field Description
Validate Select one of the following options:
  • Validate: Select this option to validate the selected hub records with the fields in PIM.
  • Validation Status: Select this option to open the PIM Validation Error dialog box so that you can see the error details for all records.

    You can also click individual validation results links to see the error details that are specific to each type of hub record.

Initialize Select one of the following options:
  • Initialize: Select this option to initialize the validated hub records to PIM.

    You can also reset an existing initialization process that may be stuck. To do this, press and hold the CTRL key and click Initialize. When you choose to proceed, you must enter a password that you can obtain from Deltek Support Services.

  • Initialization Status: Select this option to open the PIM Initialization Errors dialog box so that you can see the error details for all records.

    You can also click individual initialization results links to see the error details that are specific to each type of hub record.
