Combine Labor Codes

To combine labor code records, use the Key Conversions utility for labor codes.

Warning: If your company uses an on-premises deployment of Vantagepoint, Deltek strongly recommends that you create a backup copy of your database before running the utility. There is no way to undo this process without a backup database.

If your company has an on-premises deployment of Vantagepoint, your company manages your database backup. If your company has a cloud-based deployment of Vantagepoint, coordinate with Deltek about your database backup.

If the existing labor code has any dependency relationships, they are removed when the labor code records are combined.

To combine labor codes:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Utilities > Key Conversions > Labor Codes.
  2. On the Combine Records tab of the Labor Codes form, click + Add Labor Code below the grid.
  3. In the Level column of the new blank row, select the labor code level.
The existing labor codes available for selection update, based on the level that you specify.
  4. In the Existing Labor Code column, enter or select an existing labor code.
If this existing labor code has any dependency relationships, they are removed when the labor code records are combined.
  5. In the New Labor Code column, enter or select the labor code to combine with the existing one.

If this New Labor Code has any dependency relationships, they are maintained when the labor code records are combined as long as they do not create any dependency relationships with the selected Existing Labor Code.

  6. To specify other labor code records to combine, repeat steps 3 through 5.
  7. Select one of the following actions:
    • To run the conversion now, click Run.
    • To schedule the conversion to run at a later time, or on a recurring basis, click Schedule and complete the fields on the Schedule dialog box. The conversion takes effect after the process is completed.
Other applications that use the affected records are updated automatically.
