General Tab of the Plan Settings Dialog Box

Use the General tab on the Plan Settings dialog box to specify the budget type for a plan.

Budget Type
Select an option to indicate how you want to plan your project:
  • Cost: Select this option to calculate and display plan amounts at cost. Specify cost rate information for labor on the Labor tab of the dialog box. Settings for your security role determine your access rights to labor costs rates and amounts. When you select this option, some information may not display because you have limited security access.
  • Billing: Select this option to calculate and display plan amounts at billing, based on the rate information on the other tabs of the dialog box. Planning at billing rates can be useful for discussions with the client about the progress and outcomes of the project. This option is available if billing rates are enabled in Vantagepoint.
  • Cost and Billing: Select this option to calculate plan amounts at both cost and billing. You can then use the Show options on the Plan form to display either cost amounts or billing amounts for the plan. The Cost and Billing option is available if billing rates are enabled in Vantagepoint.
