Delete an Expense Type, Consultant Type, or Unit Assignment from a Project Plan

If you assign an expense type, consultant type, or unit to a project and later want to remove that assignment, you can do that on the Expenses tab, Consultants tab, or Units tab of the Plan form in the Projects hub.

If the assignment has a job-to-date (JTD) amount or has been saved as part of the baseline plan, you cannot delete the assignment. In those cases, however, you can still use the procedure below to delete the current planned amount for the assignment.

To delete an expense type, consultant type, or unit assignment from a project plan:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Plan.
  2. At the top of the Plan form, enter either a complete or partial name or number in the Find project lookup field to find and select the project for which you want to delete an assignment.
  3. On the Actions bar, click Check Out.
  4. Click the Expenses tab, Consultants tab, or Units tab.
  5. Expand the work breakdown structure (WBS) until the assignment row is visible.
  6. Hover over that WBS row and click at the end of the row.
  7. Click Delete.
  8. When the confirmation message displays, click Delete again.
