Recalculate Planned Cost and Billing Amounts

In most cases, all amounts are automatically recalculated for a plan using current rate settings each time you save settings in the Plan Settings dialog box. The exceptions are Vision and iAccess plans that were converted to Vantagepoint.

If a Vision or iAccess plan was converted to Vantagepoint, many converted assignments may have override rate information that was saved for specific calendar periods while in Vision or iAccess. Following conversion, those plan amounts, by default, are not automatically recalculated when you save plan settings in Vantagepoint. If you want all planned amounts in a converted plan to be recalculated automatically, complete the steps below. You only need to do this once; from that point forward the planned amounts will be recalculated automatically each time you save the settings.

If you selected Cost and Billing in Budget Type on the General tab, you can recalculate both cost rate and billing rate information. If you selected either Billing or Cost in Budget Type, you can only recalculate the corresponding type of rate information.

To recalculate planned amounts for a converted Vision or iAccess plan based on the current settings:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Plan.
  2. At the top of the Plan form, enter either a complete or partial name or number in the Find project lookup field to find and select the project for which you want to recalculate planned values.
  3. On the Actions bar, click Other Actions > Plan Settings.

If the plan is not already checked out to you, this action automatically checks it out.

  4. On the Labor, Expenses, Consultants, and Units tabs of the Plan Settings dialog box, select the Recalculate Planned Cost or Recalculate Planned Billing checkboxes for the types of planned amounts that you want to recalculate.
  5. Click Save.
  6. When a message displays asking you to confirm that you want to recalculate, click Yes.
All planned amounts are recalculated based on the current settings.
