Contents of the Reassign Units Dialog Box

Use the Reassign Units dialog box to transfer all or part of the assigned unit quantities to another unit or account.

Field	Description
Unit and Plan Structure Branch	The name of the selected unit and the elements that make up the branch of the plan work breakdown structure (WBS) to the level of the unit assignment display in the upper-left corner of the dialog box.
Period to Reassign	From the drop-down list, select one of the following options: Entire assignment period: Select this option to reassign planned unit quantities for the entire assignment date range. Part of the assignment period: Select this option to reassign the planned units for only a portion of the assignment date range. When you select this option, use the Period fields to enter the start and end dates.
Period	These fields display the start and end dates of the current assignment date range. If you are reassigning planned unit quantities for the entire assignment date range, you cannot change the start and end dates. If you are reassigning planned unit quantities for only part of the current assignment date range, enter or select the start date and end date for the reassignment period in these fields. Both dates must be within the original assignment date range.
% to Reassign	To reassign less than 100 percent of the planned unit quantities for the reassignment period, enter that percentage in this field. Vantagepoint updates the Quantity to Reassign field based on your entry.
Quantity to Reassign	To reassign fewer than the total number of planned unit quantities for the reassignment period, enter the number in this field. Vantagepoint updates the % to Reassign field based on your entry.
Maximum Quantity	This field displays the total number of planned unit quantities for the date range in the Period fields that you can reassign.

Reassign To Grid

By default, the fields in this grid display the values on the unit assignment row that you selected on the Units tab.

Field	Description
Unit Name	This field displays the name for the selected unit. To reassign quantities to another unit, click to search for and select a combination of unit and unit table on the Units Lookup dialog box.
Unit Number	This field displays the unit number for the selected unit.
Unit Table	This field displays the unit table for the selected unit.
Account	This field displays the account name and account number of the selected unit. If you modified the Unit Name field, this field displays the default account from that unit based on the project's charge type. You can use this field to select a different account for the unit.
Account Type	This field displays the account type (for example, Direct Expense or Reimbursable Expense) for the selected account.

Buttons

Field	Description
Reassign	To complete the reassignments and close the dialog box, click Reassign. When the reassignment finishes, a completion message displays at the top of the page. If you did not make changes to the Unit Name or Account fields in the Reassign To grid, you cannot click this button. Vantagepoint does the following: Reassigns the planned quantities to the unit or account that you selected, either by adding a new assignment or by merging the new assignment with an existing one for that unit. Deletes the original assignment if all quantities were reassigned, or adjusts the planned quantities for the original assignment if only reassigned a portion of the original quantities. (The original assignment is not deleted if job-to-date (JTD) quantities exist for that assignment, or if that assignment was saved as part of the plan baseline.) Calculates the planned billing and cost using the new row's cost and billing rates.
Cancel	Click this button to close the dialog box without reassigning units.
