Contents of the Reschedule Revenue Forecast Dates Dialog Box

Use the fields and options on the Reschedule Revenue Forecast Dates dialog box to change revenue forecast date ranges.

Field Description
Shift

To change the date range but keep the same number of working days between the start and end date and keep the same distribution of revenue amounts, select this option.

If you clicked at the end of the row to display this dialog box and you then select this option, you can change one or both of the dates in the From This Revenue Forecast Date Range fields to shift only a part of the current date range. If you do not change these dates, the entire date range is shifted.

Change Duration To lengthen or shorten the revenue forecast date range, select this option.
Redistribute Revenue Evenly or Don't Redistribute
These options display if planned revenue amounts exist and you selected Change Duration.
  • Select Redistribute Revenue Evenly to redistribute the affected revenue amounts evenly over the new date range.
  • Select Don't Redistribute to keep the current distribution of revenue.
From This Revenue Forecast Date Range

These fields display the current forecast start and end dates.

If this dialog box displays because you changed a start or end date in the revenue forecast grid or you selected the Change Duration option, you cannot change these dates. However, if you clicked at the end of the row and chose Reschedule to display this dialog box and you then selected Shift, you can do either of the following:
  • Leave these dates unchanged. The entire date range will be rescheduled.
  • Change one or both of these dates. Only that part of the original date range will be rescheduled. The dates that you select cannot be outside of the original date range.
To This Revenue Forecast Date Range

Enter the new forecast date range for the row.

If you selected the Shift option, you select either a new start date or a new end date, and Vantagepoint determines the other date needed to keep the same number of working days in the range. If you entered a new start or end date in the revenue forecast grid before you displayed this dialog box, that date displays by default, and Vantagepoint calculates the other date. If you did not enter one of the dates in the revenue forecast grid before you displayed this dialog box, you enter the new start date, and Vantagepoint calculates the end date.

If you selected the Change Duration option, you select both the start date and end date for the range.

Replace All Child Dates with New Parent Dates

If you selected the Change Duration option, select this checkbox to change the revenue forecast dates for all the child rows to match the new revenue forecast dates and, optionally, to redistribute their amounts based on the new dates.

If this checkbox is not selected, dates for child rows are adjusted only if they matched the original revenue forecast dates or if they fall outside the new date range.

Reschedule

To complete the rescheduling and close the dialog box, click this option.

Vantagepoint then does the following:
  • Changes the affected revenue forecast dates.
  • Shifts or redistributes planned revenue amounts.

When the process finishes, a completion message displays at the top of the page.
