Utilities (Desktop)
Some utilities are located in Utilities in the desktop application.
Other utilities are in the browser application.

- Change Company Utility
If Vantagepoint is set up to use multiple companies and your security role gives you access to more than one company, the Change Company utility in the desktop application enables you to change the company on which you are currently working, without logging out of Vantagepoint. - Change Period Utility
Use the Change Period utility to select the accounting period in which you want to work (your active period) in the Vantagepoint desktop application. - Open New Benefit Year Utility
Use the Open New Benefit Year utility to start tracking time earned and taken for a new absence year. You can have only one active absence accrual year. You cannot have different active absence years for different employees. - 1099 Initialization Utility
Use the 1099 Initialization utility in the desktop application to clear out and store 1099 data from the previous year and start accumulating 1099 data for the new year. - Multicompany Analysis Utility
The Multicompany Analysis utility lets you generate a report that shows you where you need to provide additional Multicompany application setup information. - User Activity Utility
The User Activity utility enables system administrators to see login and logout information for users in the Vantagepoint desktop application, the applications they use, process server activity, and queue names. - Audit Purge Utility
Use the Configuration Audit Purge utility to remove data from configuration log records. The purged areas are Roles, Users, Screen Designer Security, and Exchange Rates. - Refresh Inventory Utility
Use the Refresh Inventory utility to refresh inventory quantities and the average cost for all inventory items. - Create Contracts from Fees Utility
Use the Create Contracts from Fees utility to create contracts and enter contract amounts based on the existing compensation amounts for multiple projects at one time. This utility creates a contract for each of the selected projects that has compensation amounts specified on the Compensation tab of the Contract Management form in the Projects hub. - Desktop Imports Utility
Use the Import utility in the desktop application to bring records from outside sources into the Vantagepoint database. - History Loading Utility
As part of installing Vantagepoint, you enter historical information about your projects and accounts, including labor and expenses accumulated on projects, account balances, and outstanding transactions. - Generic Resources
Use the Generic Resources Key Conversion utility to change a generic resource. - Report Administration Utility
Use the Report Administration utility to monitor currently running reporting jobs and review a log of all reporting jobs, past and current. - Files Administration Utility
The Files Administration utility works with the external FileStream database to allow you to search for and view documents and templates that you created in Vantagepoint or uploaded in certain areas in Vantagepoint.
