  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Convert Reference Number Formats

To determine the length of your reference numbers, use the Key Format utility for reference numbers.

Reference numbers are used for a number of different values. They do not have to be unique because they are often used in unrelated tables.

Warning: If your company uses an on-premises deployment of Vantagepoint, Deltek strongly recommends that you create a backup copy of your database before running the utility. There is no way to undo this process without a backup database.

If your company has an on-premises deployment of Vantagepoint, your company manages your database backup. If your company has a cloud-based deployment of Vantagepoint, coordinate with Deltek about your database backup.

To reformat reference numbers:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Utilities > Key Formats > Reference Numbers.
  2. On the Reference Number Format form, for the Field Length field, enter the reference number length.
    The Add/Remove Length From option displays.
  3. In the Add/Remove Length From option, select Left or Right to identify where you want to add or remove characters from the reference number.
  4. Review the value in the Sample Value field to see the format as it will be after the key format utility is run.
  5. Click Run.
