Purchasing and Inventory and Web Services

In addition to alerts, you can use the Web Services feature to help replicate your enterprise's purchasing and inventory business processes as they are used in reporting, receiving, and voucher posting.

Your technical staff uses this feature to build custom workflows of any type for Item Requests, Request for Price Quotes, Purchase Requisitions, and Purchase Orders applications, using web services that you specify. For example, they can configure a web service to notify a manager if a user tries to delete a purchase order record.

Your technical staff sets up web service workflows in Settings > Workflow > Web Services. When you insert a new row on the Web Services form, the Application field drop-down list displays the applications for which a web service workflow can be configured.
