Dashboard

Your dashboard is your portal into Vantagepoint business development, project, and accounting information. This is the place where you view, filter, segment, and present data from various areas of Vantagepoint on a single page.

The Vantagepoint CRM application is required to access Dashboard content. This content is further refined based on your user role and, if your firm uses multiple companies, by company. This role-based security enables administrators to manage the content for individuals or groups of users.

Depending on the configuration of your dashboards and your access rights, you can perform any of the following tasks in Dashboards:

  • View dashboards and dashparts that are based on hub records.
  • Modify displayed information in dashparts using available filter and sort options, while viewing dashboards.
  • Retrieve records from a pre-selected list, or perform a query to find specific records.
  • Refresh your dashparts to save any changes.
  • Create or modify dashboards and dashparts in edit mode.
  • Export dashparts as a CSV file.

About Dashparts

Dashboard content is divided into individual dashparts that you manage and customize. A dashpart is a chart or table that provides visual indicators of key information that lets you track how your projects are trending and identify any areas that might need attention.

These dashparts provide access to specific hub records, company data, reports, and activities. You can view and filter the contents of the dashparts and sort table information in dashparts. Users with appropriate access rights can design the dashparts and dashboards, arrange them, and assign user access. Dashparts are designed to be independent from one another, which allows you to access and modify any dashpart without affecting other dashparts.

You can access dashparts and dashboards based on your role. For example, one user might display the projects dashpart that shows projects with high-level information, a favorite report dashpart that includes frequently run reports, and a My Activities dashpart that displays the current day's appointments and meetings.

To learn more about dashpart types, see Dashparts.

Multiple Currency Support

Your company's multicurrency setup and dashpart settings determine the presentation currency that you see on the dashboard. Calculations are based on currency exchange rates established in Currency Settings. When a presentation currency is set on a dashpart, the conversion of amounts to presentation currency always uses the currency for the primary project.

Multiple Language Support

When you create a dashboard or dashpart while logged in with a specific language, the language used when you created the dashboard or dashpart is retained even when you later log in using a different language. For more information, see: Multiple Languages in Dashboards and Dashparts.

Tablet and Smart Phone Support

When you use devices such as tablets and smart phones, the Edit Mode toggle option on the Dashboards form toolbar is disabled because the touchscreen interface on these devices does not support drag-and-drop interactions.
