Contents of the Location Moves Form

Use the fields and options to enter, view, and modify location move information of inventory items.

Toolbar

Field	Description
New	Click this option to enable the Location Moves form.
Post Location Move	Click this option to commit the location move transaction. When you commit the transaction, Vantagepoint assigns a transaction number to the location move and recalculates the item's Quantity on Hand.
Print	After you click this option, select one of the following: Select Print Current Location Move to preview a report of the current transaction. Select Print Active Group to preview a report for the current group of transactions. Select Select Location Move to Print to display and select from a list of all of the location move transactions that are posted, to include them in a report.

Fields

Field	Description
Transaction Number	This field displays the next inventory transaction number.
Date	This field displays today's date. To change the date, enter a date or click and select a date.
Performed By	This field displays the employee name of the Vantagepoint login user. Click to select a different employee.
Comment	Enter comments or notes in this field. The header of the Location Moves report displays the data that you enter here.

Items Grid

Field	Description
Item	Click and select an inventory item from the Items Lookup list, which displays inventory items only.
Description	This field displays the item's description.
From Location	From the drop-down list, select the location from which you are moving this inventory item. Vantagepoint populates this field with the Item's default location, if it is specified in the Default Location field of Settings > Purchasing & Inventory > Items Master > Inventory Tab.
From Location Qty on Hand	This field displays the item's quantity on hand at the old location. If this transaction was posted before and you open the transaction from a lookup, this field is inactive and empty. If two or more grid rows have the same mix of Item and From Location, and you click in the toolbar, Vantagepoint checks the total you are moving to ensure that it is not more than the From Location Quantity on Hand.
Qty to Move	Enter the quantity of this item that you are moving to the new location. You cannot enter a number that is less than zero or more than the From Location Qty on Hand.
To Location	From the drop-down list, select the location to which you are moving this inventory item.
To Location Qty on Hand	This field displays the item's quantity on hand at its new location. This quantity is calculated as (original Quantity on Hand + Qty to Move). If this transaction was posted before, and you open it from , this field is inactive and empty.
U/M	This field displays the item's unit of measure.
Insert	Click this option to add a row to the grid.
Copy	Click the row to copy, then click this option to copy it.
Delete	Click the row to delete, then click this option to delete it.
