Set Up an Overall Revenue Upset Limit for a Project

An overall upset limit applies a maximum limit on the job-to-date (JTD) revenue that can be recognized for a project when you run revenue generation.

To set up an overall revenue upset limit for a project:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Project.
  2. On the Projects form, select a project and click the Accounting tab.
  3. In the Revenue section, select the Enable Overall Revenue Limit check box.
  4. In the Basis field, select Upset Limits.
  5. In the Include in Limit section, select one or more of the following check boxes to create the maximum revenue amount (upset limit) for a project: Compensation, Direct Consultant, or Reimbursable Allowance.
You specify these amounts for a project on the Contracts and Compensation form.
  6. In the Phase To Adjust field, select a phase or phase and task to which to post the amount of revenue that exceeds the amount that you select as the revenue maximum in the Include in Limit section of this tab.
Deltek recommends that the adjustment phase or task have the following settings:
    • A status of dormant. You enter the status for a phase or task in the Status field on the Summary pane of the Projects form.
    • A revenue method of N (No Revenue Recognition). You enter the revenue method for a phase or task in the Revenue Method field on the Revenue section of the Accounting tab of the Projects form.
