Create a Linked Promotional Project for an Existing Project

When you add a new regular project in Vantagepoint for a contract that you are pursuing, you can add, at the same time, a linked-but-separate promotional project to track pursuit costs. If you do not do that and later decide to add a linked promotional project, you can do that using the Create Linked Promotional Project dialog box.

To add a promotional project and link it to a regular project that already exists in Vantagepoint:

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Hubs > Projects, and select any option under Projects.
  2. Select the regular project for which you want to create a linked promotional project.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • If the Projects form is displayed, click Other Actions on the Actions bar, and click Create a Linked Promotional Project.
    • From any of the forms in the Projects hub, click next to the project name, and click + Create a Linked Promotional Project on the Project Structure dialog box.
  4. Enter a unique project number in Promotional Project Number.
  5. Enter a name for the promotional projectin Promotional Project Name.
  6. If Vantagepoint is set up to use organizations, enter the organization that is responsible for the promotional project.
  7. To create the promotional project, click Create Promotional Project.
  8. Display the promotional project in the Projects hub, and review and, if necessary, revise the default data for that project.
