Pin Resources to Save Them While You Do More Searches

If you need to do additional searches to assemble the group of resources you want, you can "pin" those you want to retain from your original search. Vantagepoint saves all pinned resources so you can retrieve them later.

Pinning resources is much like using a "shopping cart" on commercial web sites. You can search for resources, select those you want from the results in the grid, and click Pin Selected to pin them and add them to the list in the Pinned dialog box. Then you can run additional searches and pin other resources you want to work with. When you finish "shopping" for resources, you can show all of the pinned resources in the Resource View grid so you can make assignments and enter planned hours.

To pin resources that you want to retain from resource search results:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Resource Management > Resource View.
  2. If the Find Resources pane is not visible to the left of the grid, click in the upper-left corner of the page to display it.
  3. Perform your first search.
  4. In the Resource View grid, select the check box next to each resource in the search results for which you want to review or enter planning information.
  5. Click Pin Selected on the toolbar.

Vantagepoint saves the group of pinned resources so you can retrieve them later.

  6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 to for additional searches.
  7. When you have pinned all resources you want, click Pinned on the toolbar, and click Show in Grid in the Pinned dialog box to display the full group of pinned resources in the Resource View grid.
