Contents of the Change Forecast Range Dialog Box in Resource Management Reporting

Use the fields and options on the Change Forecast Range dialog box to define the range of calendar periods you want to include on resource management reports.

If you display calendar period columns on a report, the forecast range determines the number of calendar period columns and the time frame each calendar period column represents.

Field Description
Scale Select whether you want the calendar periods to be days, weeks, or months.
Duration Select the number of calendar periods to include in the forecast range. Each calendar period column contains planning data for one day, week, or month, based on what you selected in the Scale field. For example, if you select Weeks in Scale and select 8 in Duration, the forecast range spans eight weeks, and eight calendar period columns display. Each calendar period column contains planning data for one week. The options available in the Duration field vary depending on the scale you selected.
Start Date/Week/Month Based on what you entered in the Scale field, select the first day, week, or month in the forecast range.

Unlike for the forecast range for Resource View, the starting period for a report can be prior to the JTD date. Note, however, that when Month is selected in Scale, the starting month cannot be more than five years in the past or more than one year in the future, to ensure that the report displays in a reasonable amount of time.

If you set up multiple companies in Vantagepoint, you can view a report that displays plans for projects from more than one company. Each of those companies could have a different starting day for their work weeks. Because of that, Resource Management reports always uses the starting day of the week specified for the user's currently active company if you select Weeks in Scale.
