Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Set the Preference to Find Words That Sound the Same

You can enable a preference to locate hub records that have variant spellings or that contain diacritical (accent) marks or special characters (for example, Steven/Stephen or Rene/Renee or Smith/Smyth/Smythe) in lookups across all hubs and applications.

To set the preference to find words that sound the same:

  1. On the main toolbar in the Vantagepoint browser application, click and select My Preferences.
  2. Select the General tab of the My Preferences dialog box.
  3. Select the Find words that sound the same when performing searches check box.
  4. Click Save.
