Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the Reference Number Format Form

Specify the reference number length, or lengthen or shorten the existing reference number length.

Field Description
Field Length Enter the desired reference number length, between 1 and 12 numbers. The current length of the reference number appears for reference.

Before decreasing a number's length, ensure that duplicate reference numbers will not be created during the conversion. The conversion routine includes a validation check for this.

Add/Remove Length From Left/Right To add or remove characters from a reference number, use this feature to determine whether the numbers are added to or removed from the left or right side of the number.

For example, if you increase the reference number length from 5 to 7, use this feature to add those two numbers to the left of the number: 12345 becomes 0012345.

Conversely, if you decrease the reference number length from 7 to 5, use this feature to remove those two numbers to the right of the number: 1234567 becomes 12345.

Sample Value This field displays the resulting format of the number.
