Establish the Default Project Payroll Tax Locale Information

If your enterprise uses the Follow Project Locale option, Vantagepoint uses the Payroll Tax Locale from the posted timesheet to determine the taxable pay basis.

Prerequisite: Before you select a project payroll tax locale, you must establish enterprise-wide withholding codes in Payroll Withholding Setup.

To establish default project payroll tax locale information:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Project.
  2. Open the project and click the Accounting tab of the Projects form.
  3. In the Payroll Tax Locale field, select the locale to associate with the project.
    The options for this field correspond to all locales associated with withholding codes of State or Local type from the Payroll Withholding Setup form.
    If you want to establish different locales at the phase or task level for a project with multiple levels in the work breakdown structure (WBS), proceed to the next step.
  4. Click and select the phase or task for which you want to establish a tax locale.
  5. In the Payroll Tax Locale field on the Accounting tab of the Projects form, enter the phase or task payroll tax locale.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each phase or task that you want to associate with a payroll tax locale.
