Modify Records to Include on a Report

You can change the selection criteria on a report to modify the records that are included on a report.

To modify the record selection that appears on a report:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select My Stuff > Reporting.
  2. Click one of the following tabs:
    1. Favorites tab to display a list of all your favorite reports. Favorite reports preserve all the options, record selection criteria, and report language (if you use multiple languages) that were specified.
    2. Reports tab to display a list of all available reports.
To filter the list of reports, click icon at the far left of the Reports grid. For more information about filtering, see Filter the Grid Results.
  3. On the Reports grid, click in a report row to display the Records field, and click to display the lookup.
The lookup displays all the saved searches that are associated with the type of report. You can select either a saved search or Search to build a new search.
  4. Select one of the following:
    1. A standard search: if available, choose one of the existing record search queries in the list that can be applied to the report. When you run the report from the Report form, the report will return the records as defined by the search.
Remember you cannot modify a legacy search. You must first clear the search criteria, then build and save a new search.
    2. Search: this option allows you to create a search based on new search criteria that will return a different set of data. You can then build a new search query based on a new subset of records. Alternatively, you can click Select Search if you decide to use one of the existing searches as a baseline for a new search. You can then modify the search criteria to return other records.

Vantagepoint displays the selected search in the Records field on both the Reports grid and on the Report form for the report.

When you are ready to run the report, click the report name in the Report grid to open the Report form. Then, click Run on the Actions bar to generate a report based on the updates that you made to the search criteria.
