Enter a Labor Budget for a Project

Use the Labor tab on the Budget form in the Projects hub to enter labor budget information for a project.

Note: An alternative to the procedure below is to copy budget information from another project's budget and then make changes to that information as necessary. See Copy Budget Information from Another Project.

To enter a labor budget for a project:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Budget.
  2. On the Budget form, select the project for which you want to enter budget information.
  3. In the Project Structure dialog box, select a work breakdown structure (WBS) element for which you want to enter budget information. (If the Project Structure dialog box does not display automatically, click to display it.)

You can only enter budget information for WBS elements at the lowest levels of the WBS.

You can also enter these dates on the Expenses + Consultants tab.

  6. Click + Add Labor below the Labor Budget grid to add a blank row.

If the grid does not contain all of the columns that you need, click in the upper-right corner of the grid and select other columns.

  7. In Labor Code, select a labor code for which you want to enter a budget for the WBS element.
  8. Enter budgeted hours and/or amount for the labor code:
    • You can enter hours only or an amount only.
