Columns for the Employee Payroll List Report

The Employee Payroll List contains a standard set of columns. You cannot select columns for this report. In the header, the report lists the W-2 year and quarter for which data is displayed. The body of the report displays the hours and pay data for the reporting period that you specify on the Options tab, as well as withholding data for each employee.

Field Description
Employee Number/Name This column displays the employee's identification number and name.
Social Security Number This column displays the person's Social Security number.
Rate For salaried employees, this column displays the employee's actual pay amount for each payroll period. For hourly employees, it displays their hourly pay rate.
per Period This column displays the accounting period during which the posting was made.
per Hour This column displays the per Hour rate for hourly employees for each pay period.
Ovt Pct This column displays the percentage applied to the employee's payroll rate to calculate standard overtime wages.
Ovt -2 Pct This column displays the percentage to apply to the employee's payroll rate to calculate special overtime wages.

This column is available only if you set Enable Secondary Overtime to Yes in Settings > Accounting > Labor Options.

Hours

The following columns display various types of hours (regular, overtime, or others) the employee worked during the specified period.

Field Description
Regular Hours This column displays the number of regular hours entered for the time period or labor posting runs for which you generate the report.
Overtime Hours This column displays the number of standard overtime hours for which the employee was paid.
Overtime - 2 This column displays the secondary overtime hours that the employee worked during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter.

This column is available only if you set Enable Secondary Overtime to Yes in Settings > Accounting > Labor Options.

Total This column displays the total hours that the employee worked during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter. The total hours equal the sum of the regular, overtime, and secondary overtime hours.

Pay

The following columns display various types of pay that the employee received during the specified period.

Field Description
Regular This column displays the regular pay that the employee received during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter.
Overtime This column displays the overtime pay that the employee received during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter.
Overtime - 2 This column displays the secondary overtime hours that the employee worked during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter.

This column is available only if you set Enable Secondary Overtime to Yes in Settings > Accounting > Labor Options.

Other Pay columns These columns display the other types of pay that the employee received during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter.
Bonus This column displays the bonus pay for the employee during the selected period.
Total This column displays the total hours that the employee worked during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab, during the W-2 year, and during the W-2 quarter. The total hours equal the sum of the regular, overtime, and secondary overtime hours.

Withholdings

The following columns display information about the withholdings from the employee's pay.

Field Description
Code This column displays the codes for types of withholding from the employee's pay.

You assign withholding codes to employees on the Payroll tab of the Employees hub.

Active This column displays the status of the withholding code for the employee: Active or Inactive.
Supp This check box is checked when employee withholdings are suppressed.
Method This column displays the method used to calculate withholding amounts:
  • Amount: Vantagepoint withholds a fixed amount. The Amount or Percent column displays that amount.
  • System: Vantagepoint calculates withholding based on the default method set up for the type of withholding in Payroll Settings.
  • Percentage: Vantagepoint withholds a specified percentage of the employee's pay. The Amount or Percent column displays that percentage.
Amount/Pct If the Method column contains Amount or Percentage, this column displays the amount or percentage of wages withheld.

If the Method column contains System, this column is blank.

Additional Amount If an amount is withheld for the employee in addition to the withholding amount Vantagepoint calculates, this column displays that amount.

Examples: An amount to supplement federal or state withholding amounts to guard against under-withholding, or an amount to compensate for withholding too much or too little for prior paychecks.

Limit If the withholding has a limit on the amount that is withheld, this column displays that maximum amount.
Limit-to-Date If the withholding code has a limit, this column displays the amount withheld to date that applies to that limit.
Last Payroll This column displays the amount withheld the last time payroll was processed.

This column is only displayed if you select the Print Last Payroll Withholding Column check box on the General tab.

Withhold amounts columns These columns display the amounts withheld for the following:
  • CUR or Periods or Dates: The amount withheld during the period that you specify in Time Frame on the Options tab.
  • QTD: The amount withheld during the W-2 quarter that you specify on the Options tab.
  • YTD: The amount withheld during the W-2 year that you specify on the Options tab.
St. If the withholding is for a tax that requires a filing status, this column displays the employee's filing status (for example, M for Married, S for Single, or H for Head of Household).
Ex. If the withholding is for a tax for which there are exemptions, this column displays the number of exemptions that the employee claims.
OEs If the tax locale distinguishes between types of exemptions, this column displays any "other" exemptions that the employee claims.
