Contributions by Category Options Tab

The Options tab gives you additional control over the data displayed on the Contributions by Category report.

Reporting Period

Use these options to display the W2 year and quarter and the last payroll withholding for the posted payroll run.

Field Description
W-2 Year Select the W-2 year for which you want to display year-to-date contribution amounts.
W-2 Quarter Select the W-2 quarter for which you want to display quarter-to-date contribution amounts.
Include QTD Select this check box to include Quarter-To-Date amounts
Include YTD Select this check box to include Year-To-Date amounts.

Inclusions

Specify the types of contributions to include on the report.
Field Description
Include Gross Wages Select this check box to display gross wages amounts.
Include Wages Subject to Contribution Select this check box to display the amount of wages subject to the contribution. This amount may not be identical to the gross wages amount. For example, the amount subject to State Unemployment Insurance contributions is calculated as follows: Gross wages - 125 Cafeteria contributions.
Include Linked Withholding Amount Select this check box to display withholding amounts for withholding codes linked to the contributions. For example, if the contribution code is 401KMATCH, the linked withholding amount is the amount withheld for the corresponding 401(k) withholding code.

Employee Sort

Use the Employee Sort options to specify the sort order for the employees included on the report:

Field Description
Number Select this button to sort by employee number.
Last Name Select this button to sort by employee last name.
Social Security Number Select this button to sort by employee Social Security number.

This Employee Sort option is displayed only if you select the Print Social Security number on paychecks option on the Checks tab of the Payroll Setup form (Settings > Payroll). To hide this option for the report, clear the Print Social Security number on paychecks check box.

Time Frame Options

Use these options to specify the time frame for data included on the report.

Field Description
Current Period The report shows data for the active accounting period.
Date Range The report shows data for a date range that you specify. Vantagepoint examines transactions within the specified date range, regardless of the period in which the transactions were posted or the dates of the current active period. Enter the start and end dates, or click the calendar icons to select the dates.
Period Range The report shows data for a range of accounting periods that you specify.

Contribution Detail

This section displays details about the types of contributions the employer makes on behalf of employees. You can select contribution codes to filter the report contents. To generate the report for all contribution codes, do not make any selections in this section.

Field Description
Contribution Specific Codes This grid displays the code ID and a description of the contribution type that the employer makes on the employee's behalf. For example, your company may have a contribution code for a matching contribution to 401(k) accounts or for contributions to State Unemployment Insurance.

Click the check box for a contribution code to filter report contents. To generate the report for all contribution codes, do not make any selections.

You assign contribution codes to employees on the Payroll tab of the Employees hub.
