Define Proposal Properties

When you create a new proposal, you can specify default properties for the proposal, including the title, dates, associated records, and related notes. You can also update an existing proposal's default properties. This feature is available if your enterprise uses CRM Plus.

To define proposal properties:

  1. In the Navigation pane, go to Proposals > Custom Proposals and create a new proposal or open an existing proposal.
    • If you create a new proposal, you enter the properties on the New Proposal dialog box.
    • If you open an existing proposal, click the Proposal Properties link on the toolbar.
  2. Enter the proposal name, which becomes the proposal header on the Title page.
  3. Enter the proposal number (if you have one).
  4. Select the project that is associated with the proposal.
The projects available for selection have a Stage that means the project is in pursuit. Projects with a status of Won, Lost, or Do Not Pursue are not available for selection. Vantagepoint automatically populates some fields from the selected project.

If you are creating an estimate for a proposal, the project selected in this field automatically populates for the proposal estimate. See Add an Estimate to a Proposal for more information.

  5. Enter the general proposal properties such as the due date, client, organization, and proposal manager.
  6. To specify any additional proposal properties, click Show Additional Properties .
  7. On the Actions bar, click Save.
