Configure the date range filter for applicable columns to display column data from a specific period of time.
These steps are not applicable when you are using
Vantagepoint on a tablet or smart phone.
Date ranges can be relative or specific. You can base the range on today's date, the current fiscal period selected, or a specific date. Relative dates change, based on the day or the fiscal period in which you are viewing the dashpart, while specific dates remain as you select.
Date ranges can be based on calendar dates (available on the Account and Account Detail dashpart bases) or fiscal periods (available on the Account, Account Detail and Project dashpart bases). The current fiscal period is the one that you select in the
Vantagepoint header.
To use a date range filter for columns in a dashpart:

In the Navigation pane, select

On the Dashboard form, create or edit a dashpart.
The
Edit Mode toggle option is not enabled when you are using a tablet or smart phone to access
Vantagepoint.

On the Dashpart Designer form, select
under the
Date Ranges column for an applicable column.
If

is not displayed for the column, it means that the column is not applicable for a date range filter.

On the Date Ranges dialog box, use the
Start and
End fields to specify the date range filter for the column.
If you select a relative date option such as Fiscal Period, Today, or First day of Month, you can use the

buttons to move forward or back in time.
If you select a calendar-based date such as Today, Month, or Quarter, you can specify a period in the past or in the future. For example, to display GL Activity for the month of January in the preceding your, you would select
Start and
End of January, click
once to move back -1, and then select
Year to move the period back in time.

In the
Include Timeframe in Heading field, select the appropriate option if you want to include the date range information in the column heading.

Click
Apply to save the changes and close the Date Ranges dialog box.

Repeat steps 2 through 6 to configure the date range filter for other columns.

In the column grid of the Dashpart Designer form, click
on the
Date Ranges column header to display the date range filters applied for the dashpart.
