Save a Proposal as a Template

After creating a proposal, you can save it as a template and reapply the format and structure to future proposals. This is useful when you have multiple proposals with similar criteria.

To save a proposal as a template:

  1. On the Actions bar of the Proposal Builder form, click Other Actions > Save Proposal as Template.
  2. On the Save Proposal as Template dialog box, define the following for the new proposal template:
    • Name: Enter a unique name for the template.
    • Category: Select a category for the template. Use the categories to organize the templates by function. You can also search the templates by category. Your administrator defines proposal categories in List Settings.
    • Description : Enter a description for the template. For example, how it is used and for what types of proposals. This information is used by other team members to quickly understand the purpose of the template.
  3. Click Continue.
The template is listed on the Proposal Templates grid in the Templates application. If the proposal that was saved as a template includes hub records, Vantagepoint saves the records as part of the template. Subsequently, you use the Manage Records dialog box to add or remove records.
