Insert an Image into a Hub Record

As you build a proposal that includes hub records, you can insert images into those records. You can also drag additional images onto records after you first create them.

Prerequisite: In the Navigation pane, select Proposals > Custom Proposals and then create a new proposal or open an existing proposal.

To insert an image into a hub record on a proposal:

  1. In the Deltek Elements section, drag the Record element to the appropriate location on the proposal.
  2. On the Add Record dialog box, select the hub from which you want to add the records.
  3. Choose a record from the hub to add to the proposal.
Click the drop-down list to continue to add records, one by one, to the proposal.
  4. Specify the number of images that you want to add to each hub record for the proposal.
For example, if there are three hub records and you enter 4 as the number of images, each hub record will include four image placeholders (totaling 12 images on the proposal).
  5. Click Add.
Vantagepoint inserts each record into the proposal and the image placeholders into each record.
  6. Drag the Image placeholders to the locations on the proposal records where you want them to display.
  7. Double-click each Image placeholder to open the Choose Image dialog box and then select a Source for the image.
After you select a source, the grid or fields that display are specific to that source:
    GridDescription
File Attachment This grid displays the files that are stored for the hub record. This grid supports various file types, such as image files, Microsoft document files, word processing files, drawing files, spreadsheets, and so on.
Link This grid includes the URLs, email addresses, and links to files and graphics that are stored for the hub record.
Local Select this option to access a Browse dialog box where you can select the image file that you want to upload. The image file must be one of the following formats: GIF, .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG, or .BMP.
  8. If you are inserting images and there is more than one record, you are prompted to either select more images or only save the selected image.
  9. Repeat this process for each image that is included in every proposal record.
When the selected images display on the proposal, you can drag the edges of the images to resize them. If you add text to the text box where an image is located, the text wraps around the image.
  10. Click Save Record Layout as Draft or, if you are done with the layout, click Finalize Records.
    • Saving drafts allows you to continue editing the record layout as a group, rather than making edits individually.
    • When you finalize the layout, the records are no longer connected to the records in the hub and you can make changes to them for this individual proposal only. After you finalize records, any changes to the records in the hub do not update the proposal.

Postrequisite: Define image properties on the Edit Image Properties Pane.
