Export a Proposal

After you generate a proposal, you can export it in an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) or other file type and save it for reuse (printing, emailing, and so on). This feature is available if your enterprise uses CRM Plus.

Prerequisite: In the Navigation pane, select Proposals > Custom Proposals and then create a new proposal or open an existing proposal.

To export a proposal:

  1. On the Custom Proposals form, do one of the following:
    • At the end of a proposal row in the grid, click Options > Export.
    • Open an existing proposal and then select Other Actions > Export to PDF on the Actions bar.
When you export the file as a PDF, it will open in a browser tab or in Adobe Acrobat, depending on your browser settings.

Draft records are useful for proposals that you send to team members for review, but it is a best practice to finalize all records before sending a proposal to a client so that the content does not change after you send the proposal.

If some records in the exported proposal have not been finalized, you are prompted to finalize them on the Export to PDF dialog box. This is not required. However, if you choose not to finalize, the draft records are updated as the record changes. For example, if a project description is updated in the Projects hub, that updated description is included in a proposal if it is still a draft record.

  2. Save the file and share it with clients.
