Schedule a Report to Run Later (Browser)

You can schedule a favorite report or a standard report to be generated at another time. For example, you can schedule reports to be generated after normal business hours.

To schedule a report to run at another time:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select My Stuff > Reporting.
  2. On the Reports tab of the Reporting form, select the report by clicking in the grid row for that report.
    Both standard and favorite reports are listed in the Reports grid. Favorite reports have Personal or Global in the Type column.
  3. On the form specific to the type of report, set options to define the layout, formats, and records included.

  4. On the Actions bar of the Reporting form, click Other Actions > Schedule.
  5. On the Distribution tab of the Schedule dialog box:
    1. In Start After, set the date and time after which you want the report generated.
    2. In Process Queue, select the queue to which you want to submit the report.
    3. If necessary, change the text in Description to describe the scheduled job more clearly.
    4. If you need to place the process on hold (pending approval, for example), select Place Process on Hold.
    5. If you want to receive an email with a copy of the generated report, select Email Me when Done.
    6. If you want to receive a notification when the report is generated, select Send Me a Notification when Done.
    7. If you want to create an archive copy of the report, select Create Report Archive, and enter the number of hours that you want to save the archived report in Archive Hours.
      The option to archive reports is only available if you are using the Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition of Microsoft SQL Server.
    8. If you want to export the report, select Export Report as File, select a file type inSave File As, and click OK to return to the Schedule dialog box.
  6. If you want the report to be run on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly), click the Recurrence tab, select the Recurring Activity option, and enter the required information.
  7. Click Schedule.
