Enable the Retainage Feature

To use the retainage feature, you must first enable it in Billing Settings.

To enable the retainage feature:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Settings > Billing > Options.
  2. In the Global Billing Options section of the Options form, set Use Retainge to Yes.
  3. Click Save.

Postrequisites: After you turn on this feature, other setup that you must complete includes the following:

  • Set up general ledger accounts for retainage in Settings > General Ledger > Chart of Accounts.
  • Map retainage accounts to invoice and accounts receivable accounts in the Invoice Mapping Accounts section in Settings > Billing > Accounts Receivable.
  • Set up retainage terms for a project on the More Calculations tab in Hubs > Projects > Billing Terms.
