Create a New Firm Hierarchy

You can create a firm hierarchy to represent, in graphical form, the parent-subsidiary relationship for firms or agencies.

Firm hierarchies are enabled by default, but your system administrator can disable the feature in Settings > General > Firm Hierarchy.

You can view a firm hierarchy regardless of your security role's access rights, but you must have edit access rights to the firm and its child firms in order to edit the hierarchy.

To create a new firm hierarchy:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Firms > Firms.
  2. On the Firms form, use the search field above the firm name to search for and select the firm that you want to open.
    If you need to link many firms, open the top-most firm in the hierarchy.
  3. Click the firm hierarchy icon to the right of the name and then click +Create a new Firm Hierarchy.
    On the Firm Hierarchy dialog box, the name of the parent firm displays at the top level of the hierarchy.
  4. To add a new level, click + and select the new firm.
    You can enable a maximum of 5 levels in a firm hierarchy. For more information. see Establish Firm Hierarchy Levels.
  5. To add more firms to the hierarchy, repeat step 4.
  6. To change the level of the firms in the hierarchy, use the arrow options.
  7. Click Save.
