Activate a Contact

A contact must be active before you can select it for use. Active contacts are those that are currently being pursued. If you attempt to select an inactive or dormant contact, you are prompted to change its status to active before proceeding.

To activate an inactive contact record:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Contacts > Contacts.
  2. Use the search field above the contact name to search for and select the contact record that you want to edit.
The Contacts lookup displays records and applies the following indicators:
    Icon Type Usage
Active The contact is currently active.
Inactive The contact is dormant or not active.
Lead If your firm uses CRM Plus and enables the Lead Qualification Process in Settings, the Lead icon displays to indicate that the contact is a new lead for your firm. New leads do not have any associated firm, project records.

If you select a lead from a lookup, you are prompted to qualify the lead to make it a contact. Click Yes to open the Lead Qualification dialog box and qualify the contact before associating it to the project record on the Associations tab.

  3. For inactive or terminated contacts:
    • If you attempt to select an inactive contact record, a Warning message displays with an option to make the contact active (if you have access rights). Select Make Active to activate the contact before proceeding.
    • If you attempt to associate a project record to a contact with a Status of Inactive or Dormant, the Inactive Contact dialog box displays. Use this dialog box to change the status to Active before proceeding.

Note that any links that were created for the contact prior to the inactivation or termination remain.

  4. Click Save.
