General Ledger Budgeting Group

Use general ledger budgeting groups to construct sets of general ledger budgets for each division, department, or other group in your enterprise or organization. These budget groups make it possible to review, edit, approve, and report on multiple budgets at once.

Security

You can configure user access to general ledger budget groups based on the organizations associated with the budgets that are included in each group. For example, if your enterprise has 3 business units and each business unit is composed of 10 teams, your business leader should only see his 10 teams. He should not see the groups that contain budget information for the other business units.

Access to general ledger budget records is based on the organization record access defined on the general tab of Role Security. A user must have access to all budgets associated with a group to have access to the general ledger budget group.

Multiple Companies

If you use multiple companies, each general ledger budget group is associated with a single company. However, you can create a general ledger budget group that includes budgets from multiple companies. The lookup in the detail budget grid is limited to those budgets with the same currency as the functional currency of the active company associated with the general ledger budget group.

Multiple Currencies

If you use multiple currencies, you see budgets across all companies that are in the same currency as the functional currency of the company that is associated with the general ledger budget group.
