Create a Chart Dashpart

You can create a visual representation of your data in your dashboards by creating chart dashparts to include in your dashboards.

Select from available chart types: Bar, Column, Scatter, Line, Spline, Area, Area Spline, and Pie.

These steps are not applicable when you are using Vantagepoint on a tablet or smart phone.

To create a chart dashpart:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select My Stuff > Dashboards.
  2. On the Dashboard form, click Edit Mode to enable editing.

    The Edit Mode toggle option is not enabled when you are using a tablet or smart phone to access Vantagepoint.

  3. On the edit mode toolbar, click + New Dashpart.
  4. On the Add New Dashpart dialog box:
    1. In the Dashpart Title field, enter a name for the dashpart.
    2. In the Dashpart Base field, select a dashpart base, such as Project or Account.
    3. Set the Dashpart Type option to Chart.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. On the Select Dashpart Columns dialog box, in the Available Columns field, click the columns to include in the dashpart.
  7. To remove a column from the dashpart, hover over the column name in the Selected Columns field and click , which moves the column back to the Available Columns field.
    Alternatively, you can click Remove All to remove all the columns.
  8. To change the order of columns in the dashpart, hover over a column in the Selected Columns field, click , and drag the column up or down in the list.
  9. Click Continue.
    The columns that you selected display at the bottom of the form.
  10. Refine the dashpart settings by using the other options on the Dashpart Designer form.
  11. Click Save.
  12. On the Add to Current Dashboard dialog box, click Yes to include the new dashpart in the dashboard that is currently open, or click No if you do not need to include the dashpart in the open dashboard.
    The Add to Current Dashboard dialog box closes. You can click at the top left of the Dashpart Designer form to return to the Dashboard form and find the dashpart that you created in the Available Dashparts area of the Dashparts Library pane. If you clicked Yes in the Add to Current Dashboard dialog box, you can also find the new dashpart on the displayed dashboard in the Dashboard form.
