Columns for Tax Analysis Report

The following columns are available for this report.

Field Description
Concatenated Address This column displays the individual's street address, city, state, and ZIP code. The report shows this information in a single column.
Currency Code This column displays the currency used for the account.

Firm Country This column displays the country from the firm's address.
Fiscal Period This column displays the accounting period in which the transaction was posted.
Gross Amount This column displays the employee's gross pay amount.
Invoice/Reference Number This column displays the invoice number associated with the transaction. Because a retainage invoice has the same invoice number as the original invoice from which it was withheld, Vantagepoint displays Retainage Billing in the Description column to distinguish it from the original invoice.
Net Amount/Tax Basis In the Inputs (Purchases) section of the report, this column displays the net amount for the transaction or tax code.

In the Outputs (Sales) section of the report, it displays the tax basis for the transaction or tax code. The tax basis can be either the net amount for the transaction or tax code or, if a compound tax is involved, the net amount plus a tax amount that is subject to the tax.

For invoices from which retainage is withheld, the tax basis includes the retainage if the Tax Method option is set to Tax when Withheld under Sections to Apply Retainage on the More Calculations tab of the Billing Terms form (Hubs > Projects > Billing Terms). The tax basis does not include retainage if the option is set to Tax when Invoiced. In that case, the tax on the retainage amount is billed on the retainage invoice when the retainage is due.

If you use multiple currencies, the report can display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). Phase This column displays the phase number associated with the transaction.
Post Seq This column displays the posting sequence number for the transaction. Vantagepoint assigns the sequence numbers during the posting process. Vantagepoint assigns 1 to the first group of transactions posted during an accounting period, 2 to the second group, and so on.

To see a numbered list of all of the postings for the current accounting period, select Transaction Center > Posting Review from the Navigation pane.

Project This column displays the project number associated with the transaction. If a transaction is not related to a project, no project number displays. No project number displays for balance sheet account transactions, except for accounts receivable transactions.
Project Country This column displays the country in which the project is located.
Recoverable Tax If you include this column in the Tax Analysis report, this column displays the portion of the transaction's tax amount that is recoverable.

If you use multiple currencies, the report can display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). The European Union Value Added Tax system has reverse charge taxes. With a reverse charge tax, the buyer of a good or service is responsible for recording a VAT transaction.
