  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Sort Column Data in a Dashpart

Sort column data in ascending or descending order for your table or chart dashparts. For charts dashparts, only one column can be sorted.

Sort is only available on a chart when grouping by a Column.

These steps are not applicable when you are using Vantagepoint on a tablet or smart phone.

You can use column sorting to create a dashpart that displays top records or bottom records by configuring the sort option in ascending or descending order.

To sort column data in a dashpart:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select My Stuff > Dashboards.
  2. On the Dashpart Designer form, create or edit a dashpart.

    The Edit Mode toggle option is not enabled when you are using a tablet or smart phone to access Vantagepoint.

  3. Click Sort Options.
  4. On the Sort Options dialog box, click the columns to be sorted:
    1. Click Select Columns to display the Select Columns dialog box.
    2. Select the columns that you need to sort.
    3. Click Apply. The Select Columns dialog box closes.
  5. On the Sort Options dialog box, in the Sort In field, select the sort option for the columns.
    Select Ascending in the Sort In field to display the bottom records first, or select Descending to display the top records.

    This is a convenient approach to create a dashpart that display top records or bottom records based on the data set of the grouped column being sorted.

  6. Click Apply.
