Functional roles are an important and flexible feature in Deltek Time\Expense\Self Service . You can set up your own functional roles and assign rights as needed to supervisors. You can also use functional roles to direct workflow through the system. In previous versions, the number of functional roles was limited and assigned specific names. Starting with version 5.1, you can create the functional role name and the rights assigned to each.

Use this screen when you initialize Deltek Time & Expense with ESS or any time you need to add, edit, or delete a functional role.
The tabs available in this screen are: Basic Information, Timesheet Rights, and Expense Rights.
