You can import master table information into Deltek Time\Expense\Self Service from three different data sources: from database tables, ASCII file formats, and Extensible Markup Language (XML) file formats.
Select this checkbox to import data from database tables, also referred to as staging tables. Please see the Data Dictionary for the layouts of the IMPORT_XXX tables, where XXX is the name of the import master table. You can also review "Import Staging Table Layouts" chapter of the Deltek Time & Expense with ESS Technical Guide for staging table layouts.
Select this checkbox to import data from ASCII files. Please review the "Import ASCII Layouts" chapter of the Deltek Time & Expense with ESS Technical Guide for a complete listing of ASCII file layouts.
Select this checkbox to import data from XML files. Please review the "Import XML Schemas" chapter of the Deltek Time & Expense with ESS Technical Guide for a complete listing of XML file layouts.
If you selected ASCII and/or XML sources, you must provide the location of these files.
This field will be disabled if you selected Table in the Source group box.
Enter the full path name of the import location of the ASCII and/or XML files. If you do not provide an import location and try to save, the system will display the following error message: "Locations are required."
If the import location is invalid when you save, the system will display the follow error message: "Import and/or Trash locations are invalid."
This field will be disabled if you selected only Table in the Source group box.
Enter the full path name of the trash location for the ASCII and/or XML files. The system will copy the ASCII and/or XML files to this location after a successful import. If you do not provide a trash location and try to save, the system will display the following error message: "Locations are required."
If the trash location is invalid when you save, the system will display the following error message: "Import and/or Trash locations are invalid."
Select the Empty pushbutton to delete files from the trash location. The system will display the following confirmation message: "Are you sure you want to empty import trash?"
If you answer Yes, all .CSV and all .XML files will be deleted from the trash location. If you answer No, nothing will be deleted.
You can schedule imports on an interval basis by supplying the start time and the amount of time for the interval before the next import is run.
This non-editable field displays the current hour. The program checks the server time once every minute and updates this field as necessary.
This non-editable field displays the current minutes. The program checks the server time once every minute and updates this field as necessary.
This non-editable field displays whether the Hour and Minute fields for the Server Time pertain to AM or PM.

Depending on the Status of the scheduled import, this pushbutton will be labeled Start or Stop or be disabled.
If the status of the current import is "Stopped," the label on the pushbutton will be Start. Select the Start pushbutton to activate the scheduled import. The Next field will be updated with the date and time of the next scheduled import.
If the status of the current scheduled import is "Started," the label on the pushbutton will be Stop. Select the Stop pushbutton to stop the current import, and the next scheduled import will be cleared.
This pushbutton will be disabled if the current scheduled import is in the process of being stopped. It will also be disabled if the administrator has disabled system login ability or if you have selected ASCII or XML without providing an Import and Trash location.
