Mentoring Relationships
Use the Mentor Relationships screen to make connections with possible mentors who can help you develop competencies and skills.
Track messages between you and your mentor and goals and activities that the two of you plan.
A mentee or mentor can have more than one mentoring relationship at a time.
These are the steps to establish a mentor relationship:
- An employee searches for and selects a mentor.
Note: To be accessible in a search an employee must first nominate themselves as a mentor. See Nominate Yourself as a Mentor for details.
- The employee’s manager approves the selection.
- The mentor’s manager approves the selection.
- The mentor approves the relationship.

Use this screen to perform actions to manage mentor relationships, such as searching for a mentor, viewing the status of a mentor request, and sending a message to your mentee or mentor. - Display the Pending Mentor Relationships Screen

Managers can view and manage all mentor relationships for direct reports and search for a mentor. - Nominate Yourself as a Mentor
If you think you would make a good mentor for others at your company, you can nominate yourself on the Career Development Succession Profile. - Search for a Mentor
You can search for employees who have volunteered to be mentors and who have specific skills, competencies, and experiences. - Send a Message to Your Mentor/Mentee
You can send a message to your mentor or mentee to offer advice, ask questions, provide feedback or encouragement, or check in on progress. - Recommend Activities to Your Mentee
You can send a mentee a recommendation to perform a task or participate in an activity that will help the mentee reach his or her goals. The mentee must acknowledge the receipt of your request. - Recommend Courses to Your Mentee
You can recommend courses that you think will help your mentee reach his or her goals.
