Create a New Premium Proprietary Listing

As a Deltek administrator, create a new and blank premium proprietary listing for a BPM to begin adding product details and start the product submission process.

Creating a new premium proprietary listing enables you to create a product listing for a custom family and/or custom product type that you will define. You can use the custom family and custom product types (under a specific category) for future premium proprietary listings that you will create.

To create a new premium proprietary listing:

1. On the navigation menu, click Products.
2. On the Product Listings page, click + Add Product.
3. In the Add Product Listing window, in the Choose a Listing Type field, select Premium Proprietary.
4. In the Company field, select a BPM for which to create the listing.
   To search for a BPM, enter the name of the BPM and select an option from the autocomplete results.
5. Select whether to create the product listing for an Existing Family within Specpoint or for a New Family that you will define.
6. If you selected the Existing Family option, select a family in the Family field for which the product is applicable.
   To search for a family, enter the name or number of the family and select an option from the autocomplete results.
7. If you selected the New Family option, define a new family:
   1. Enter a unique Family Number in this format: ######.##.
   2. Enter a unique Family Name.
8. If you selected the New Family option, assign categories for the new family.
   In the Category field, select one or multiple categories.

   To search for a category, enter the category and select an option from the autocomplete results.

9. Select whether to use an Existing Product Type (product types within the MasterSpec library, existing custom product types, and existing premium plus product types) or create a New Product Type for the product listing.
   Note: If you selected the New Family option, the Existing Product Type option will not be available. You must define a New Product Type.
10. If you selected the Existing Product Type option, select a product type in the Product Type field for which the product is applicable.
    To search for a product type, enter the name or number of the product type and select an option from the autocomplete results. Premium plus product types are prefixed by (+).
11. If you selected the New Product Type option, enter a unique Product Type name to define a new product type.
12. In the Product Model Number field, enter a unique model number or code for the product.
13. In the Product Name field, enter a unique name for the product.
14. Click Add Product.
    The Manage Listing page displays with the details of the new premium proprietary listing and with the following updated attributes:

    • State is Proprietary Review.
    • Status is Inactive.

    The premium proprietary listing is now available for BPM submission and the BPM can now view and update the listing.

You can now update the product listing while it is under review, or you can use it as a base to add a product listing that has the same company, listing type, family, and product type.
