Contents of the Competition Page
Use the contents of this page to view how product listings from other companies and manufacturers perform in the same family or product type.
Header Contents
On the header, the following general options are available:

This indicates the name of the page within the Industry Analytics module. The name of this page is Competition. |
Analytics Home | Click this tab to open the Industry Analytics page and view the available data. |
Competition | Click this tab to open the Competition page and view the performance of your product listings against products from other manufacturers.

Information | Click this button to display tooltips and learn more about each industry analytics feature. |
Reset | Click this button to reset all analytics widgets to their default state. |
Date | Click this button and select a date to filter the available industry data. |

Competitors | This displays the number of competitor manufacturers/BPM companies that offer product listings under your selected date, Family, and Product Type. |
Family | To filter competitors by a
Specpoint
family under which the competitors offer their product listings, select a
family.
To search for a family, enter a family name in the Seach field. |
Product Type | To filter competitors by a
Specpoint
product type under which the competitors offer their product listings, select a
product type.
To search for a product type, enter a product type name in the Seach field. |
Competitor Chart | This bar chart displays competitor data based on your selected date, element,
Family, and
Product Type.

Competitor Chart
In this chart, the following items are available:
Item | Description |

Choose an Element | Select an element or criteria, such as common project parameters, to organize the competition data. The following elements are available:

Element, such as Manufacturer | The horizontal axis or x-axis represents instances of your selected element or criteria.
For example, if you selected Building Type, this displays the applicable building types, such as Hotel, Library, and Manufacturing. If you selected the Manufacturer element, this displays the applicable BPM companies. |
Specified | The vertical axis or y-axis represents the number of instances when a product listing was specified. |
Bar | For a given instance of your selected element, this bar represents the number of instances when a product listing was specified.
For example, if you selected the Manufacturer element, this displays a bar that represents the specified count for each applicable BPM company. |
PowerBI® | Use the available PowerBI® options to drill through, sort, or expand the data. |
Competitor Table
On this table, the following columns for each instance of a specified product listing are available:
Column | Description |

Manufacturer | This indicates the manufacturer or BPM company that owns the specified product listing. |
No. Specified | This indicates the number of times that the product listing was specified within the project's Family and Product Type. |
Family | This indicates the family in which the product listing specified. |
Product Type | This indicates the product type in which the product listing specified. |
Product | This indicates the name of the specified product listing. |
Date Added/Specified | This indicates the date when the product listing was added or specified. |
Design Phase | This indicates the project design phase when the product listing was added or specified. |
Building Type | This indicates the building typology or purpose of the project in which the product listing was specified. |
Source App | This indicates whether the product listing was specified in a Specpoint project or a project in a Legacy application, such as SpecBuilder Cloud or MasterWorks. |
Construction Budget | This indicates the budget range for the construction of the project in which the product listing was specified. |
Added BOD | This indicates whether the product listing was specified as a basis-of-design (BOD) product. |
Project State | This indicates the location of the project, in terms of state, in which the product listing was specified. |
Wind Zone | This indicates the wind zone of the project in which the product listing was specified.
The wind zone indicates the frequency and strength of windstorms in the project location based on the classification system of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). |
Gross Building Area | This indicates the gross building area of the project in which the product listing was specified. |
Geographic Region | This indicates the geographic region of the project in which the product listing was specified.
The geographic region indicates the climate of the project location based on the classification system of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). |
Contract Type | This indicates the contract type of the project in which the product listing was specified.
The contract type indicates the types of agreements made between parties involved in a project. |
Construction Type | This indicates the construction type of the project in which the product listing was specified.
The construction type indicates the type of materials that a firm uses to construct a structure and how resistant these materials are to fire. |
Seismic Zone | This indicates the seismic zone of the project, in which the product listing was specified.
The seismic zone indicates the seismic conditions of the project's location based on the seismic design categories of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). |
