Use this tab to define the permissions a group must have to access the options within Open Plan.
You can define whether an item should be enabled and/or visible for the members of the group. When you enable the parent item, all its child items are also enabled by default. However, you can define the permissions for each menu item individually.
- Select the
Visible option to make the item visible to the group.
- Select the
Enabled
option to allow the group to use the menu item or perform the corresponding action.

Files

This level of the Open Plan hierarchy controls the permissions that are granted to the group for files.
- New — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the New File dialog box and the
New File Wizard to create new files such as projects, calendars, resources, and codes.
- Save View — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the Save current view as dialog box to save a view and copy the view by saving it with a new name.
- Manage Files —This item controls the permissions that are granted to the group for managing files.
- Backup File — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Backup File command to back up files.
- Restore File — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Restore File command to restore previously backed-up files.
- Delete File — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Delete File command to delete files.
- Change Owner and Access Control — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Change Owner and Access Control
command to edit files.
- Check In/ Check Out — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Check In and
Check Out commands to briefcase files.
- Share — This controls whether members of the group can share messages to logged in users.
- Send Message — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Send Message command to send a pop-up message to another user who is logged in to Open Plan.
- Preferences — This item controls the permissions that are granted to the group for configuring system setting preferences and data source connection.
- Data Sources — This item controls the permissions that members of the group have relative to data sources. It controls whether the members of the group can select a predefined data source to be used for Open Plan.
- Create Data Sources — This item controls whether the members of the group can create a data source.
- Edit Data Sources — This item controls whether the members of the group can edit a data source.
- Delete Data Sources —This item controls whether the members of the group can delete a data source.
- Applications — This litem controls the permissions that are granted to a group for viewing or updating system preferences.
- Symbols — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Symbols button on the Options dialog box to update an existing data source connection

Integration

This level of the Open Plan hierarchy controls the permissions that are granted to the group for transferring of data between a wide variety of applications and Open Plan using the standard and custom import or export specifications.
This item contains the following items:
- Import — This item controls whether the members of the group can import external files:
- Import MSP Data — This item controls whether the users and group members assigned this role can use the
Microsoft Project Import command to import Microsoft Project files.
- Import P6 Data — This item controls whether the users and group members assigned this role can use the
Oracle Primavera Import command to import Primavera Project Plan files.
- Import General Data — This item controls whether the users and group members assigned this role can use the
General Import command.
- Import MRP Data — This item controls whether the users and group members assigned this role can use the
MRP Import command.
- Import CAM Data — This item controls whether the users and group members assigned this role can use the
CAM Import command.
- Edit Script — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the Edit Script command to edit General Import and General Export scripts.

- Delete Defined Fields — This item controls whether the members of the group can delete existing user defined fields.
- Note Categories — This item controls the permissions that are granted to the group relative to Note Categories.
- Create Note Categories — This item controls whether the members of the group can create and copy note categories.
- Edit Note Categories — This item controls whether the members of the group can edit note categories.
- Delete Note Categories — This item controls whether the members of the group can delete note categories.
- Calculated Fields — This item controls the permissions that are granted to the group relative to calculated fields.

- Rollup Definitions — This item controls the permissions that are granted to the group for performing a rollup of selected numeric and date fields for Activities, Resources, and Codes.
- Create Rollup Definitions — This item controls whether the members of the group can create and copy rollup definitions.
- Edit Rollup Definitions — This item controls whether the members of the group can edit rollup definitions.
- Delete Rollup Definitions — This item controls whether the members of the group can delete rollup definitions.
- Spread Curves — This item controls whether the members of the group an use the Spread Curve dialog box to create, edit, and delete spread curves.
- Reporting Calendars — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the Manage Reporting Calendars dialog box to create, copy, edit, and delete a reporting calendar.
- Group Delete — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the
Group Delete command to delete a group of data records in an open project that share a common characteristic.
- Browser Views — This item controls whether the members of the group can manage browser views using the
Browser Views command on the
Tools menu.

This level of the Open Plan hierarchy controls the permissions that are granted to the group for views.
This item contains the following items:
- View Preferences — This item controls whether the members of the group can control barchart, spreadsheet, histogram, and view preferences. When you enable it, the members of the group can control the display styles of the following project views:
- The barchart view in the Barchart Preferences dialog box.
- The spreadsheet view in the Spreadsheet Preferences dialog box.
- The histogram view in the Histogram Preferences dialog box.
- All hierarchy view preferences, such as the network, code, and resource views in the appropriate Preferences dialog box.
- Title Blocks — This item controls whether the members of the group can use the Title Blocks dialog box to create, copy, edit, and delete title blocks.
- Bar Sets — This item controls whether the members of the group can create and maintain bar sets. When you enable it, members of the group can use the Bar Sets dialog box to create, copy, edit, and delete bar sets.
- Conditional Formatting — This item controls whether the members of the group can control over the format of spreadsheet views. When you enable this item, members of the group can use the Conditional Formatting dialog box to customize the look and feel of a spreadsheet view.
