Assign the Teams.ShareDocument Entity Function

After enabling the PIM for Teams application for your users, determine which user roles in your organization should have the ability to create Teams conversations directly from PIM. Access to the Create/Reply to Teams Conversations feature is restricted to user roles assigned the Teams.ShareDocument entity function. Users without this function can view or inspect documents shared by other users, depending on their Teams security settings, but they will not be able to create new Teams conversations from PIM.

To assign the Teams.ShareDocument entity function role:

1. In PIM, navigate to Admin > System Configuration Manage > Microsoft Applications.
2. Click against the PIM and Teams application.
3. On the Manage Microsoft Application - PIM and Teams window, click the Security tab.
4. Click to create a permission.
5. On the new row, use the Select Entity Function list to select Teams.ShareDocument.
6. From the Select Role list, select the user role that you want to assign the entity function to.
7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 to assign the entity function to additional roles, as needed.
