Clone a Document

You can clone an existing document in the DMS to use as a basis for a new document. You must use Internet Explorer to clone a document.

To clone a document:

  1. On the header bar, click Information Zone.
  2. Search for the document.
    For information, see Searching for Documents.
  3. For the document that you want to clone, do one of the following:
    • If you are in Classic View mode, click > Clone document.
    • If you are in Smart View mode, click > Clone document.
  4. On the Clone Document window, update the document title, version, and any associated document pools and attributes, if required.
  5. Click Next.
  6. In the Document Details step, enter details about the document and the version, if required.
  7. Click Finish.
    The document opens in the associated application.
  8. Modify the content of the document, as required, and then save it.

Postrequisite: After you clone a document, you must complete the procedure to Check in a Document.
