Managing Organizations on an Opportunity
When you create an opportunity, you can add any external organizations that will be involved with the project, and define the roles of those organizations. If an opportunity turns into a project, you can copy the organizations over when you create the project record.

You can add external organizations to an opportunity. These are the organizations that will be involved in the project, such as clients and contractors.
