Job Home Concepts

You can:

  • Create jobs or subjobs and maintain the relevant master data.
  • View and maintain customer, employee, and pricing information.
  • Assign employees and favorites to jobs.
  • View job entries and invoices issued on the job.
  • Create plans for invoicing for each job.
  • Attach and maintain documents related to the job.
  • Generate reports for jobs, employees, and profitability.
  • Filter and view selected jobs using selection criteria.
  • View information about open jobs and all pending actions that must be performed before you close the job.

A job can be created on the basis of a template job.

When you create a job, select an existing job in the Template Job field to use as a basis. You can enter values in a number of fields during creation of the job.

If the values entered on the new job uniquely identify a template job, all remaining values (job budget lines, job parameters, job price information, and so on) will be copied from this template to the new job. If no unique template can be found, such as if the values you entered on the new job cannot uniquely identify a template, Maconomy issues a message informing you that no template could be found. In this connection, you should note that a large number of the fields in this workspace can be used for identifying a certain template.

After creating the job, you can still change the customer up until you invoice the job. If you change the customer, the bill-to customer is changed to the new customer's bill-to customer. This also occurs if the bill-to customer has previously been changed manually. If the new customer's currency is different from the old, and you have made entries on the job, Maconomy will continue to use the old customer's currency.

When a job is no longer used, it is closed, and Maconomy automatically generates an end invoice.

Once a job has been closed, no further registrations can be made on the job. However, you can reopen a job for registration by selecting the Reopen Job action.
