General

10/2025

New Maconomy Version Naming Format

Beginning in 2026, Maconomy's release naming convention will change to a YYYY.Q format, where:

  • YYYY refers to the calendar year
  • Q refers to the quarter of that year

For example, the release following Maconomy 3.0 will be named Maconomy 2026.1. This format will be used for all subsequent releases (Maconomy 2026.2 for Q2, Maconomy 2026.3 for Q3, and so on).

10/2025

Maconomy Support for Valkey

Maconomy now integrates with Valkey, a high-performance in-memory data store, to enhance background job handling, image caching, and file workflow speed and reliability. Starting with Maconomy 2.6.8 and 3.0, a properly configured Valkey server is required; otherwise, the features will not function.

01/2025

Postponed Deprecation of View-based Analyzer Reports

It was previously announced that the view-based analyzer reports would be deprecated with Maconomy 3.0. This deprecation is now postponed until the most commonly used reports are made available as standard analyzer reports using the universe technology.

06/2024

05/2023

Windows 11 for Maconomy

Windows 11 is certified for use with Maconomy Workspace Client and Portal for Maconomy since February 2022.

Maconomy versions supported:

  • 2.6.1 and later
  • 2.5.x streams
  • 2.4.8
  • 2.3.4
  • 2.2.6

Windows 11 was tested on Maconomy version 2.5.4, with iAccess, as well as BPM and PeoplePlanner integration, using Chromium Edge as the default browser for web products.

This information was inadvertently left out of Deltek Product Support Compatibility Matrix, but it will be included in the next update.

Mandatory Migration Required - Maconomy RESTful Web Services

Several legacy versions of Maconomy RESTful API features will be deprecated and restricted for customer use from Maconomy 3.0 release onwards. Customers must migrate to supported API versions immediately to avoid disruption to existing integrations. A full list of impacted versions and migration guidance is available in the latest Deltek Maconomy Web Services Programmers Guide.

  • defaultForecastBudgetType
  • myPlanURL
  • myPlanURLPortal
  • ShowJobPreInvoiceReconciliationInWorkspaces

  • CapacityOverviewURL
  • ShowPlanningAssistantInJobBudgets
  • ShowPlanningAssistantInPeriodicJobBudgets
  • ShowPlanningAssistantInProgressEvaluation

Dialogs for Removal from Maconomy 3.0 Onwards

In Maconomy 3.0, the following dialogs will be removed because they will no longer be in use:

  • SelectPrinter
  • SetJobDialog

In a Maconomy release for 2026 (no version number yet), the following dialogs are scheduled to be removed for the same reason stated above:

  • CatalogHeader
  • CatalogLine
  • ItemPropertyLine
  • SeasonalModel

12/2024

Workspace Client Removed from Maconomy 3.0

In Maconomy 3.0, the Workspace Client (WSC) will be removed from Maconomy. Deltek recommends that customers migrate to the Web Client and make the necessary adjustments as early as possible.

Visit the Maconomy Help Center and refer to the Transitioning to the Web Client card for more information.

12/2024

06/2024

MConfig

MConfigMaconomy 2.6.4 now uses MConfig 11.0, which does not support the installation, maintenance, or configuration of Maconomy 2.3 (Internal Version 19) or earlier releases. Some functionality not explicitly related to specific Maconomy versions, such as backup setup and documentation databases, has been removed in MConfig 11.0.

To handle Maconomy version 2.3 or earlier, you must use older MConfig versions, such as MConfig 10.3.

When attempting to use MConfig 11.0 with Maconomy 2.3 or earlier, MConfig displays an error message suggesting you use an older MConfig version.

When using MConfig 10.3 on a server with Maconomy 2.3 or earlier, MConfig displays a warning that it is the last version supporting the said Maconomy version.

10/2022

Maconomy Report Designer - RGL

With the maturation of the BPM Reporting technology and the release of MPL4, the Maconomy Report Designer (also known as RGL) was moved to sustaining support in 2017. With Maconomy 3.0, the Maconomy Report Designer will no longer be included in the release.

Desupport

10/2025

Scheduled Removal of Legacy Excel Export Format

In a release scheduled for 2026, Maconomy will discontinue support for the legacy output format, .xls (Excel 2003), for exports. The Export to Excel action will instead use the .xlsx format. This change simplifies export functionality and eliminates the need to handle .xls-specific cases during future enhancements.

Please review and update any extensions or integrations that rely on the .xls format. Ensure your tools are compatible with .xlsx before the change takes effect.

07/2025

Maconomy 2.5.4: Employee Image Rendering

In Maconomy 2.5.4, support was introduced for displaying employee images using a third-party library.

This functionality will be replaced by more advanced native image rendering in Maconomy 2.6.8 and 3.0.

As a result, the old image rendering method will no longer be available in future versions.

06/2024

Oracle Linux (OEL) 7

Oracle Linux (OEL) 7 will be out of support from Oracle as of July 2024. With the release of Maconomy 2.6.3, we will not support running OEL 7 and we recommend customers upgrading to Maconomy 2.6.3 to move to OEL 8.

12/2023

Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit

For Maconomy 2.6.2 and later versions, Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit will no longer be supported.

12/2023

Firefox 91 ESR

As of Maconomy 2.6.2, Firefox 91 ESR is replaced by Firefox 102 ESR.

12/2023

Android 10 (on tablets for Web Client)

Maconomy 2.6.2 and later versions support Android 11, 12 and 13.

12/2023

Oracle Client 12c

The Oracle client version needs to match the Oracle database version. Oracle client 12c is no longer supported for Maconomy versions that are not on Oracle 12c database. For Maconomy 2.6.1 and later, the database and client version is updated to Oracle 19c.

12/2023

SQL Server 2 2017 (64 bit)

Microsoft ended support for SQL Server 2017 (64 bit) on October 2022. For Maconomy 2.6 and later versions, Deltek recommends that you upgrade to a newer SQL Server version.

11/2022

Google Analytics

We are removing Google Analytics with Maconomy 2.6.1.

10/2022

VW Views

As of Maconomy 3.0, we plan to remove VW access views due to a lack of use. We will replace legacy BO views with faster performing and functionality-equivalent AX views.

10/2022

MScript

As of Maconomy 3.0, MScript and the SOAP API written in MScript will no longer be supported for customer's own use (Deltek will however continue to support MScript use in our own product integrations such as in People Planner).

10/2022

REST 1

As of Maconomy 3.0, REST 1 will no longer be supported for customer's own use.

01/2025

10/2022

Java Analyzer Client

Update: Refer to the January 2025 announcement.

With the maturation of the web analyzer introduced in Maconomy 2.6, we retire the legacy Java Analyzer Client. With Maconomy 3.0, the legacy Analyzer and the accompanying view-based reports will no longer be available and only reports based on universes will be supported in the web analyzer. The analyzer links in the Workspace Client will be removed and new links will be added opening the web analyzer. Any custom view-based reports must be migrated to the universe technology to be available in the web analyzer.

10/2022

"Kerberos SSO" Login Desupported

From Maconomy 2.6.1, the old Kerberos login configuration, identified as "Kerberos SSO" in MConfig and based on a manually configured external ticket verifier command in MaconomyCustom.ini, is desupported and removed.

Instead, you can use one of the other Kerberos login methods, such as "Kerberos account login" or "Kerberos keytab file," which are better supported by MConfig and require no manual configuration steps.

04/2022

Updates as of 2.6

As of Maconomy 2.6, we are making the following changes:

  • Removing the Portal (replaced by web client)
  • Removing System Parameters defining host and port for EmailOnAction in MDML Layouts (replaced by server.ini configuration)
  • Removing legacy Azure AD Login Module
  • Removing MPL1 and MPL2 (replaced by MPL4)
  • Desupporting SQL Server 2012 and 2014
  • Desupporting our legacy MRL Reporting Technology

BusinessObjects 4.3 SP4 Patch 10+

BusinessObjects (BO) 4.3 SP4 Patch 10 and later versions (including BO 4.3 SP5+) are not currently certified for use with Maconomy.

Note: If you encounter a critical issue that requires Patch 10+, please contact the Product Manager (Chris Challenor) to discuss the situation and the associated risks related to Trusted Authentication.

Patch 10 introduces the de-support of the current trusted authentication mechanism between Maconomy and BO (BPM). A new authentication mechanism will be required in a future version of Maconomy. For customers upgrading from Patch 7 or earlier to Patch 10+, the old authentication may still function. However, there is a risk that if a user disables Trusted Authentication in the CMS and restarts it, reporting in the production environment could break. In such cases, recovery would require a downgrade to Patch 7, followed by a re-upgrade to Patch 10+ to restore BPM functionality in Maconomy.

We are actively working on migrating to the new Trusted Authentication mechanism. Once this is implemented, Maconomy will support BO 4.3 SP4 Patch 10 and later versions.

BusinessObjects 4.3 SP4 Patch 7

BusinessObjects (BO) 4.3 SP4 Patch 7 is certified for use with Maconomy 2.6.1 CU 17 onwards.

Note: BO 4.3 SP4 Patch 7 resolves a known issue wherein the following error message displays upon refreshing a report with different selection criteria values:
An internal error occured while calling
'processDPCommands' API. (Error:ERR_WIS_30270)

This error has been reported to occur on BO 4.3 installations. Refer to the following SAP notes for more information (requires SAP account to log in):

MyPlan Users Upgrading to Maconomy 2.6.3 or Later

If you are using the native Maconomy Web Client version of People Planner's MyPlan and plan to upgrade to Maconomy 2.6.3 or later, you must also upgrade People Planner to version 4.6 or later.

Failure to do so will result in MyPlan becoming non-functional, as it references fields that are not available in earlier versions of People Planner.

Workaround:

To maintain functionality without upgrading People Planner, customize the MyPlan layout to remove references to the non-existent fields.

Deprecation of People Planner Legacy Windows Application

The People Planner Legacy Windows Application has been deprecated and will no longer be supported as of Q1 2026. 05/2022

As of 4.3, the following were deprecated:

  • People Planner Azure Authentication
  • Maconomy Portal-specific features

These are removed altogether in People Planner 4.4.
