Adobe InDesign and Proposals
When you create or configure a merge template for use with proposals, you can use a template that was created using the Adobe InDesign application.
These templates contain merge codes that retrieve data from the fields of an Info Center, but you must first create or import this type of template using
. When you use an Adobe InDesign template with a proposal, GovWin Capture Management stores the template in the FILESTREAM database, which makes the template available in the Files Administration Utility. Before you can use Adobe InDesign to create GovWin Capture Management merge templates and generate merged documents, you must meet or complete certain prerequisites, including:
- You must have InDesign installed on your workstation.
- The Creative Cloud version of InDesign is supported.
- InDesign versions CS5.5 (7.5) and later are supported for GovWin Capture Management.
- If you use InDesign CS6, you must install it on the same drive as your Windows Users directory on your workstation. If they are not located in the same directory, you cannot create or edit GovWin Capture Management InDesign templates. You will receive a message that InDesign has never been run as an administrator and InDesign will not open. (This issue does not occur with InDesign CS5.5.)
- InDesign must be included in the Windows registry on your workstation for InDesign to work with GovWin Capture Management. If you have Windows 7, InDesign may not generate the registry entry automatically when you launch InDesign for the first time.
- A system administrator must enable Microsoft SQL Server FILESTREAM. InDesign merge templates are uploaded and saved to GovWin Capture Management using FILESTREAM technology.
